Strepto
Take a peek inside the .map file. Maps are written in clean XML, and is really easy to understand. Just find a and change the XXX where XXX is a number that represents a vehicle. You might not know which spawnpoint is which, so renaming the spawnpoints in the editor will help alot. Link to comment

UK Red
Ransom, sorry, but you are 100% wrong. Check out this map to see how I've taken this to an extreme. Chris, if you change the ID under each spawnpoint it will work. Changing the ID in the editor changes every vehicle, not a global ID. Download my map and you'll see how it can be done Link to comment
Ransom
Sorry, wrong again it must have changed since beta testing. I asked and smugglers run actually does this (one map in release pack). I've seen so many maps just use pickups I didnt know it was possible. Well thats 2 strikes, I dont think theres anything else besides spawn ordering and spawn types that I could get wrong. Edited February 19, 2006 by Guest Link to comment
UK Red
Pickups are used because it's still a pain in the ass. Having "Set Vehicle" under a spawnpoints properties would make it a hell of a lot easier to do Link to comment
DEVIL-gtamp.net
any 1 got a vehicle id list i could use Link to comment
UK Red
This is how I do it. I add the vehicles, name them the type I want them to be. Then I add a vehicle change pickup for each vehicle type and also name it. Then in an xml editor you have all the info you need properly named. Then afterwards just go back and delete the pickups Link to comment

Ransom
Now I may be wrong again since beta (damn these spawnpoint questions) but I'm pretty sure this time... 360 is an invalid rotation. Control+f for "360" to find where I'm talking about. I think you use 0 instead. If not 0, then 1. Specifying invalid time might screw it up as well. Usually not having metas doesnt matter though. UK Red
I've knocked up a quick VB app that lets you easily view, reorder, and change vehicle type for spwnpoints on your maps. Spawnpoint Editor Link to comment
Guest
I just do it in this way. Create a spawnpoint Create a vehicle change pickup on the same location of the spawnpoint. Change the vehiclepickup type, set the respawntime of it at 9999 seconds. I find this the easiest way. Link to comment
driver2
I just do it in this way.Create a spawnpoint Create a vehicle change pickup on the same location of the spawnpoint. Change the vehiclepickup type, set the respawntime of it at 9999 seconds. I find this the easiest way. But not quite the best. At least if you have different cars in one location or at leat on locations that others can reach. The pickup my disappear once its taken, but if it isnt, other can still take it. This only happens when not all spawnpoints are used of course. Link to comment
Leviathan
the way I do it: create map save it open .map file in text editor. open up vehicles.ide find the car you want ([CTRL]+[F]) replace vehicle number with other number from vehicles.ide from spawns you want to start with other vehicle. save it again... ([CTRL]+ ) place it in your maps folder and/or on the map center page. play it! (it's cool to see if you open up the map again in the editor that the cars are allready as you've set them when you load your map) Link to comment
UK Red
Again, I point to the little app I wrote. It lists all the spawnpoints and the type of vehicle. Allows you to change the vehicle type, name and order they are used in. 4 posts up ^ Link to comment

UK Red
It's ugly and functional. I've written another program to help with map making which I haven't released. If I build a small collection I may make a bigger, more refined utility Link to comment
